Treatment process · Dental implant

Dental implant: four phases, fully predictable.

The template-guided implantation follows a clearly structured, fully predictable process. Every step is rehearsed in advance on the computer, so the actual procedure runs without unwelcome surprises.

Diagnostics & 3D planning

01

Consultation, CBCT scan and computer planning.

A thorough examination of the starting situation and discussion of your wishes. From a digital 3D radiograph (CBCT scan), bone volume, nerve course and adjacent structures are captured in three dimensions. On this basis, every implantation factor is defined on the computer: number, position and angulation. You receive a thorough briefing on procedure, materials and prosthetic restoration.

Surgical guide

02

Available no earlier than the next day.

From the computer plan, a surgical guide is 3D-printed at the dental laboratory. It transfers the plan 1:1 to the patient's mouth. A template-guided implantation on the same day as the first examination is therefore not the standard case. Immediate implantation is possible but must be planned in advance.

Template-guided implantation

03

The actual procedure.

Implantation is template-guided, under local anaesthesia, usually no longer than 30 minutes per jaw — for a single implant often in under 5 minutes, because the entire procedure is planned on the computer in advance and the guide transfers the plan 1:1 into the mouth. Access is minimally invasive: either a punch through the gum or a small incision, without the wide flap and bone exposure used in classical implantology. A suture is usually not required.

Restoration

04

Provisional and final prosthetics.

A provisional restoration is fabricated at the dental laboratory in advance and is often inserted immediately after implantation, protecting the implant during healing. After healing, the final prosthetic restorations — crowns, bridges or bars from zirconium dioxide — are fabricated in an Austrian master laboratory in Vienna and placed.
